Dante Desmond grew up splitting time between his Afro-Cuban mom in the bay area of California and his white, redneck father in St. Pete, Florida. Naturally, they became an expert at straddling the boundaries between worlds - person of color and white, small town and big city, Southern and Californian. As he grew up and discovered that he is non-binary and queer, he found new borderlands to live in. Dante often finds themselves navigating the world through multiple lenses, perceived as both male and female, brown and white, straight and queer, rich and poor. Because of this, Dante has found himself writing horror and thrillers about transgressing the socially constructed boundaries of identity.

Dante hopes that his films can act as catharsis for marginalized audiences while being catalysts for change.
